Our sunny high-altitude plateau is ideal for outings with children. Numerous hiking trails are suitable also for baby buggies.
Children's Hour: Every Monday in July and August, a Children's Hour is held at the Parish Center in Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Children's Playground: In the village square and at the sports grounds, there is a Children's Playground as well as a bowling alley and a miniature golf course.
Alpine Coaster Summer Tobogganing Course: Once you've reached the Gardoné Hut, it's convenient to get to the tobogganing course. It's fun for the whole family. For more information, phone: +39/0462/502929.
Swimming Pool: Outdoor swimming pools are located in Welschnofen / Nova Levante and in Steinegg / Collepietra.
Bathing Lakes: Kaltern Lake / Lago di Caldaro, Monticolo Lakes / Lagi di Monticolo.
Library: In Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente, Eggen/Ega, and Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro, there are libraries with reading corners and play areas for children.

Kids Card Laurinio: There’s the Laurinio newspaper for the youngsters, children’s hiking trails, vacation tips, information about great places to visit, as well as lots of games, riddles, and pictures to color. You can obtain your Laurinio Card at the tourist office or at the hotel. It contains a wealth of useful information about how families with children can spend a great vacation together!
Useful Tip on How to Have a Pleasant Family Hike
To the Leger Alm in Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro. Total walking time: 1 hr. Degree of difficulty: easy – possible for baby buggies, too. You can park your car at the parking lot in Maria Weissenstein, the most-important place of pilgrimage in South Tyrol. From there, you can take Trail 2 and easily reach the Leger Alm in Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro in about an hour. The Alm (Alpine Hut) there is hosted, and also features a nice petting zoo as well as a big meadow where children can play.
Our Children’s Playgrounds
Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente: At the sports center in Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente, there’s a large children’s playground with fun games, a miniature golf course, and a soccer field. At the village square in the Schloss Thurn Street, there’s a smaller playground right in the woods.
Obereggen: The "Platzl" Bar at the valley station of the Obereggen-Oberholz Panorama Chair Lift (1,550 – 2,150 m above sea-level) has a new children’s playground! Want a refreshment? Then this is the place to be! The "Platzl" Bar is located at the Valley Station in Obereggen. It offers refreshing beverages, small snacks, and a big selection of ice cream dishes. There’s also a children’s playground with a fun inflated castle where the kids can romp and play, a ping-pong table, swings, a merry-go-round, and fantastic monkey bars. While the parents take a break, the youngsters can romp and have fun. Of course, there is no admission fee for use of the playground. The new Forest Zipline Facility is a great attraction for the whole family.
Eggen/Ega: There’s an exciting children’s playground at the sports center.
Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro: There’s lots of fun awaiting kids in peaceful village of Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro. The youngsters are welcome to romp and play on the extensive fields and meadows.
