The town of Eggen is situated in the forest area extending east of the high-altitude plateau of Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente and covering the slopes of the Latemar. The district of Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente is home to 900 residents, and includes the villages of Birchabruck / Ponte Nova, Obereggen, and Rauth/Novale. Eggen is a popular starting point for numerous hiking tours and biking routes.

There are three adventure hikes and two Nordic Walking days organized by the Tourist Association every week. The extensive and convenient bus system enables hikers to reach the various different starting points for innumerable wonderful hikes. And biking enthusiasts can participate in a variety of guided tours for different skill levels.
