Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro is nestled in a beautiful landscape. The White Horn rises magnificently in the northeast, and the high-altitude plateau slopes gradually down towards the west until it reaches the last farmsteads and then drops precipitously into the Etsch/Adige Valley. The famous place of pilgrimage Maria Weissenstein / Pietralba with the little church of St. Leonhard is located in Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro.
The country farmsteads lie scattered over the woody high-altitude plateau surrounding the sleepy Alpine village of Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro with the idyllic village center (elevation: 1,389 meters above sea-level). The district has approx. 600 inhabitants.
There are three adventure hikes and two Nordic Walking days organized by the Tourist Association every week. The extensive and convenient bus system enables hikers to reach the various different starting points for innumerable wonderful hikes. And biking enthusiasts can participate in a variety of guided tours for different skill levels.
