During the summer months, the Eggen Valley offers a diverse program of hiking and other activities. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, the Tourism Association conducts three adventure hikes with the certified hiking guide. These hikes are suitable for all skill levels and fitness levels. On the other hand, every Tuesday and Thursday, Nordic Walking classes for beginners and advanced enthusiasts are held; the classes are led by a trained instructor. We will provide the necessary poles, and participation is free of charge. Mountain bikers can look forward to attending a very well-organized bike school. All racing sport enthusiasts can take their mountain bike or racing bike and join the group best suited to their skill level and start exploring the mountains. More information and registration at the Tourism Association of Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente up to the time of the lecture (at 5:00 p.m.).
The Tourism Association has also devised a marvelous program of fun-filled, age-appropriate activities for children. Besides the horse stables, there are also the Children's Afternoons held every Monday in the months of July and August. The zipline park in Obereggen at the aerial lift's valley station is a new attraction for the whole family. The Fun Park consists of three exciting courses with 25 stations and just as many different challenges – some easy, some more difficult.
Every week, there are musical concerts of all kinds, with brass bands playing lively folk music, but also classical music groups. The concerts are held both outdoors and in church. The program includes concerts by the brass bands, traditional "Schuhplattler" performances, shows by traditional folk dance groups, evening chamber music concerts, as well as piano recitals and organ concerts.
Numerous clubs and organizations dedicated to preserving local customs and traditional garb hold their annual outdoor celebrations at the festival grounds in the fields and the forests. Visitors will be astounded by the variety of delicious foods and refreshments (including local specialties) and are sure to be amused by the various different entertainments. The festivals generally wind their way down in the evenings with a closing dance.
