Nordic Walking originated in Scandinavia, but its popularity is continuing to spread among health-conscious people all over the world. It is good not only for your heart and circulatory system – it is also better for your joints than such other forms of exercise as normal walking or jogging. That's because not only your leg muscles get a work out. Instead, almost your entire musculature – especially in your arms, shoulders, chest, and back – benefit. Nordic Walking and Hiking is not only fun – after just 25 minutes, you'll feel it releasing mood-lifting hormones into your blood stream. It truly is one of the healthiest forms of sport known to Man! And virtually everyone can participate in it. Beginners, people undergoing rehabilitation or who just want to enjoy a pleasant stroll, and hikers. You get to set the pace! You can take it easy, or take broad strides and really get a work-out. Nordic Walking really is an ideal form of sport.

Nordic Walking Lessons for Beginners and Advanced Walkers, with a Trained Instructor
Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente: Every Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Meeting place: The Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente Tourism Association. Obereggen: Every Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Meeting place: The Oberholz Chair Lift. Registration up till 5:00 p.m. of the previous day at the Tourist Association. You will be provided with the necessary Nordic Walking poles. Participation is free of charge.

Around the Village in Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente
Total length: 5.5 km. Total duration: 45 min. Degree of difficulty: easy. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Bar Luisa, Sport Center, cafés in the center of town. Starting point and destination: Bar Luisa. Go from the parking lot at the entrance to town, opposite the Café Bar Luisa, along the street towards the Unterkaplun Hof. At the Hingerle Hof (to the right), you can enjoy a marvelous panoramic view of the Schlern/Sciliar area. That's where you should take a turn to the left, continuing along gravel trails and asphalt paths until you come to the Bühler Hof (with a panoramic view of the Rose Garden, the Latemar, and the White Horn). Continue to the center of town and then back to the starting point.
Panorama Roundtrip in Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente
Total length: 7.5 km. Total duration: 2 hours. Degree of difficulty: easy. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Bar Luisa, Hotel Pfösl. Starting point and destination: The parking lot at the entrance to town, across from the Bar Luisa. This is a rather long, but easy roundtrip hike affording splendid views. From the Café Bar Luisa, proceed along the street towards Bozen/Bolzano, past the little Pfösl Chapel to the left, take the first trail to the right and ascend to the Hotel Pfösl. Behind the hotel, continue along the forest trail until you come to the Moser farmsteads. Cross the main street and proceed along the asphalt path, past the farmsteads of Kotz, Titsch, Bayerl, and Weissbamer, until you come to the Schlernblick House (with excellent lookout points to view the Rose Garden, the Latemar, the White Horn, the Black Horn, and Zanggen) and then return to the starting point.
Wölfl Roundtrip in Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente
Total length: 9 km. Total duration: 3 hours. Degree of difficulty: medium. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Bar Luisa, Sport Center, cafés in the center of town, the Wölf Hof, the Gatterer Hof. Starting point and destination: The parking lot at the entrance to town, across from the Bar Luisa. This hike affords a variety of views, and takes you over the heavily wooded high-altitude plateau. From the Café Bar Luisa, proceed along the street, past the Sport Center, until you come to the Unterkaplun Hof. Via the forest trail, you will come to the Wölfl Hof. It's possible to turn off here to the Wölfl Hof. Before coming to the Wölf Hof, we'll take the steep path at the left up towards the Gatterer Hof (with a view of the Unterland, the Salurner Klause, and the Brenta Group). We continue over gravel trails and asphalt paths to the center of Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente and back to the starting point.
Roundtrip Route from Bayerlsäge in Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente
Total length: 19 km. Total duration: 5 hours. Degree of difficulty: high. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Bar Luisa, Hotel Pfösl, Hotel Ganischger Hof, Hotel Schwarzenbach, Hotel Rauth. Features: This is a sunny route through a magnificent landscape of meadows and pastures. Starting point and destination: The parking lot at the entrance to town, across from the Bar Luisa. This is a long roundtrip route, affording you views of lots of impressive scenery – the perfect route for a day trip. From the Café Bar Luisa, proceed along the street in the direction of Bozen/Bolzano. You’ll ascend to the Hotel Pfösl and continue to the Moserhöfen. Take the trail through the fields to the Eggel Hof, the Ganischger Hof, the Bayerl sawmill, the Schwarzenbach, and then towards Rauth. Return from Rauth along the same route until you come to the Hotel Schwarzenbach and the Ganischger Hof. Continue along the forest trail at the right towards the Staller Hof (horse stables), Titsch, Bayerl, Weißbamer, and the Schlernblick House (with excellent lookout points to view the Rose Garden, the Latemar, the White Horn, the Black Horn, and Zanggen) and then return to the starting point.
The Golf Course in Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro
Total length: 7 km. Total duration: 2 ½ hours. Degree of difficulty: medium. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Hotel Peter, Wieser Inn, the golf course. Worth seeing: the panorama from the golf course. Starting point and destination: Hotel Peter. From the Hotel Peter, turn right towards Oberrain and continue along the street to Häusler, then turn right and cross the forest trail to the golf course. Cross the main street and proceed along the forest trail to the Hillebrand, Renner, and Locher farmsteads and then back to the starting point.
Petersberger Leger Alm in Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro
Total length: 10 km. Total duration: 3 ½ hours. Degree of difficulty: difficult. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Hotel Peter, Hotel Friedeck, Weber Inn, Petersberger Leger Alm, Worht seeing: The panorama visible from the Maria Weissenstein Place of Pilgrimage. Starting point and destination: Hotel Peter. From the Hotel Peter, proceed along the street to the Weber Inn and then continue along the hiking path to the Maria Weissenstein Place of Pilgrimage. You’ll have a pleasant ride along the forest trail all the way to the Petersberger Leger Alm; return back to the starting point along the same route.
Epircher Laner in Obereggen
Total length: 8 km. Total duration: 3 hours. Degree of difficulty: medium. Surface conditions: Asphalt and gravel paths. Rest stops along the way: Epircher Laner Alm. Starting point and destination: Upper parking lot in Obereggen. From the upper parking lot in Obereggen, proceed to the right in the direction of the Hotel Zirm and continue along the forest trail to the Epricher Laner Alm. You can return to the starting point via a breath-taking roundtrip route beneath the Latemar.
Bewaller Roundtrip Route in Obereggen
Total length: 14 km. Total duration: 3 hours. Degree of difficulty: high. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Inns in Obereggen and the Geiger Hof. Starting point and destination: Upper parking lot in Obereggen. From the upper parking lot in Obereggen, proceed via the forest path to the Bewaller Hof (magnificent field landscape) and continue along the Tembl Trail through the Karer Woods (renowned for the wood used to manufacture violins) to Lake Karer. Return by following the same route back to the starting point.
Grott Hof in Eggen
Total length: 7.7 km. Total duration: 3 hours. Degree of difficulty: difficult. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Gasser Hof, Hotel Marica, Hotel Latemar. Starting point and destination: The parking lot in the center of the town of Eggen. This route is more strenuous, but offers very rewarding outlook points. Proceed from the parking lot in the center of the town of Eggen, past the Gasser Hof in the direction of the Kob Hof. Continue along the forest trail, circling around to the Grott Hof and then back to the center of town.
St. Anna Roundtrip Route in Eggen
Total length: 3.6 km. Total duration: 1 hour. Degree of difficulty: easy. Surface conditions: Asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails. Rest stops along the way: Gasser Hof, Hotel Marica, Hotel Latemar. Starting point and destination: The parking lot in the center of the town of Eggen. Proceed from the parking lot in the center of the town of Eggen, past the Gasser Hof in the direction of the Kob Hof. At the Kobn Chapel, take the return route back to the center of town.
