The town of Eggen is situated in the forest area extending east of the high-altitude plateau of Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente and covering the slopes of the Latemar. The district of Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente is home to 900 residents, and includes the villages of Birchabruck / Ponte Nova, Obereggen, and Rauth/Novale. In the wintertime, the Latemar-Obereggen Ski Center (just 3 km away) offers well-groomed slopes and excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Eggen and Obereggen are connected by shuttle busses which commute several times a day. Wintertime hikers will love the plethora of winter hiking trails in Eggen, where they can relax and marvel at the magnificent winter landscapes.
