The Eggen Valley is set up for hikers looking forward to exploring its 20 kilometers of cleared paths and enjoying Mother Nature up close.

1. DEUTSCHNOFEN / NOVA PONENTE, 1,350 meters above sea-level

 

1.1. From the Village Center to the Wölflhof and Bauer im Wald

Can be reached from Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente on the cleared street. From the village center via the Holzerstrasse to the Wölflhof (approx. 1 hour). Refreshment stop. Continue to Bauer im Wald (40 min.). Refreshment stop (you must call in advance). Then return to the village center by taking Trail 3 to the Unterkaplunhof and then Trail N to the village (passable only after, at most, light snowfall).

 

1.2. From the Village Center to the Höggerhof

From the village center, take the Holzerstrasse and Trail K until you come to the Höggerhof (passable only after, at most, light snowfall). Otherwise: Take the road until you come to the Höggerhof (approx. 1 hour). There, you can stop for refreshments and then return to the village center.

 

1.3. From the Village Center to the Unterkaplunhof

From the village center, take Trail 5N until you come to the Unterkaplunhof (approx. 1 hour). There, you can stop for refreshments. Trail No. 3 to the Wöflhof is passable only after, at most, light snowfall. Refreshment stop (approx. 20 min).

 

1.4. From the Village Center to St. Helena's Church

From the village center, take the Hauptstrasse to the round-about at the entrance to the village and then proceed along the sidewalk in the direction of Bozen/Bolzano. As you come to the Hotel Pfösl, take the second road on the left towards St. Helena (approx. 70 min). You can obtain the key to the church at the Kreuzhof (right next to the church).

 

1.5. Panorama Trail

From the village center, take the Hauptstrasse to the round-about at the entrance to the village and then proceed along the sidewalk in the direction of Bozen/Bolzano. As you come to the Hotel Pfösl, turn into the first street at the left and follow the "P" mark. Continue to the Haus Schlernblick and the Weissbamerhof (where you can ascend to St. Helena, requiring about 10 minutes). Then continue to the Kotzhof, the Mooserhof, cross the main street, and go to the Hotel Pfösl. You can stop for refreshments here and then return to the village center (2 hours).

 

1.6. To the Liegalm – Toboggan Course

Taking your own car, proceed towards Bozen/Bolzano until you come to the Ganischgerhof. Park your vehicle in the parking lot at the roadside and ascend to the Liegalm via Trail No. 9. You will come to the toboggan course. The refreshment stop there is hosted. Travel time: 1.5 hours. You can descend by toboggan or by foot.

 

2. OBEREGGEN, 1,550 meters above sea-level

 

2.1. NEW: Wintertime hiking trail from Obereggen (1,550 meters above sea-level) to the Epircher-Laner Alm (1, 830 m) and the Eggen Valley Alpine meadows.

Take the new pedestrian trail along the toboggan course (length: 2.5 km), for which you will need about 1.5 hours. Refreshment stops at the meadows.

 

2.2. Obereggen (1,550 meters above sea-level) - Moschegg Trail

With a marvelous view of the Rose Garden and the Schlern/Sciliar (length: 1.7 km). Walking time: approx. 1 hour.

 

2.3. Obereggen (1,550 meters) - Bewallerhof (1,500 meters above sea-level)

Take Trail No. 9 (length: 2 km). Walking time: approx. 1.5 hours.

 

 

3. EGGEN, 1,126 meters above sea-level

 

3.1. To the Grotthof

From the village center, take Trail " to the Grotthof (approx. 30 min.).

 

3.2. To the Kobhof

From the village center, proceed to the Kobhof and the Birchebner (approx. 40 min).

 

3.3. Städtl Trail to the Weisshof

From the village center, proceed toward Städtl and the Weisshof (approx. 40 min).

 

4. Petersberg / Monte S. Pietro, 1,380 m above sea-level / Maria Weissenstein, 1,520 m above sea-level

 

4.1. To Maria Weissenstein

From the village center, proceed along the road towards the Place of Pilgrimage (approx. 30 min). If there has been no more than light snowfall, take the sidewalk to the Probishof and the Contemplation Way.

 

4.2. To Moralt

From the village center, you will need approx. 40 minutes.

 

4.2. To the Petersberger Leger

From the Maria Weissenstein Place of Pilgrimage, take Forest Trail No. 2 to the Petersberger Leger (30 min).

 

4.3. To the Schönrast and the Schmieder Alm

From the Maria Weissenstein Place of Pilgrimage, take the Wintertime Trail to the Alpine meadows (1 hour and 30 minutes).
